The Sycamore Chamber of Commerce is seeking sponsors for its annual FUNDAY GOLF CLASSIC, on Thursday, August 4 at Sycamore Golf Course. Sponsorship range from $150 to $2,000. Click here for sponsorship opportunities. Over 240 business people participate in this outing annually. A shotgun start at 7;30 a.m. or 12:45 p.m. The day includes lunch, golf and dinner /awards immediatley following. Contact the Chamber for more information 815-895-3456.

The Sycamore Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the 2011 Clifford Danielson Outstanding Citizen Award. The Chamber established the annual award in 1986, naming it for Clifford Danielson. Danielson was a leader in the Sycamore business community for nearly 70 years. Clifford Danielson died in 1995. Only written nominations submitted to the chamber office by October 1, will be considered. Eligible nominees must:
- Be a living resident of the greater Sycamore area or actively involved in the Sycamore community although not a resident.
- Have a record of stable and consistent leadership in civic activities for a minimum of 10 years.
- Have contributed in a way to enhance the quality of life in Sycamore.

Sycamore Chamber Ambassadors Offer $1,000.00 Scholarship
The Sycamore Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Club is offering a scholarship to Sycamore High School seniors. Students who have been active in the Sycamore community through volunteerism or have been involved in a service organization; i.e.: Interact, Student Ambassadors, Key Club, etc. and who plan on attending a four-year college, community college or trade/vocational school may be eligible to apply.
The scholarship award is for a total of $1,000 for the student’s freshman year and can be used for tuition, room and board, books and class fees. An application may be picked up at the Sycamore High School Guidance Office. The application deadline is Friday, April 29.
“The Sycamore Chamber Ambassadors is an invaluable group of community leaders that serve as the volunteer force for a variety of Community and Chamber events. Ambassadors welcome new businesses to our community and serve as mentors throughout the year. These community leaders assist new business people in getting acclimated into the business community and create solidarity within the Chamber membership,“ Executive Director of the Sycamore Chamber, Rose Treml said. “We are proud to offer this scholarship to a high school senior in appreciation for their efforts in keeping our community a great place to live, work and play,” Treml said.
